Krug serves up a couple gems, unsurprising considering his last Daytrotter session, and considering he is, ya know, Spencer Krug. "Winged/Wicked Things" would emerge later on Random Spirit Lover in all its sweeping glory, and we got a phenomenal, revved up version of "Shut Up I Am Dreaming" that may have even topped the already wonderful album version. This time around, we get a slowed down "Mending of the Gown," transforming the Lover standout into a gorgeous ballad, and "True Colors," a solid Krug tune first debuted on the Sunset Rubdown EP last January ("Three Colors"). However, the true gem here is "Idiot Heart," which could (no shit) be my favorite Krug song to date (ok, at least top five). Also called "Icarus," the track is almost more Wolf Parade than Sunset Rubdown, and the prominent drums and chooping guitar licks give it a dance feel. And I mean, Spence dishes out lines like, "I was never much of a dancer, but I know enough to know you have to move your idiot body around" and exclaims "Oh, look at you go!" and "Move around!" a couple times. It's an exhilarating epic, and may follow the "Winged" Daytrotter-session-to-next-record-standout formula.
Check it out, here's my two faves, but go to Daytrotter and the get whole thing cuz its certainly worth it. They may remove the new ones cuz they technically weren't supposed to be posted yet.
UPDATE: I have been asked to remove the mp3s, sorry, but I do believe Daytrotter will officially post them on monday. Sit tight folks.

Just to clarify, this set technically isn't up on Daytrotter yet...it was placed up by mistake in a live review someone posted. They didn't take the tracks down yet, but here's an external link to the files in case they do:

There also might be an additional fourth track, since these three songs are labeled out of 4.
